We had almost 1,000 attendances at sessions in October!

We’ve had fantastic commitment from players over the last few months. We had almost 1,000 attendances at sessions in October! We are determined to build on everyone’s hard work and to that end we have put together a fantastic virtual programme for the remainder of this month.

Edi will be leading the Strength and Conditioning sessions for the U13/U15 group. He will be assisted by some of the senior players and there will be another special session from Jim Crompton who is a qualified Osteopath who understands water polo very well as he has two very keen boys in the U13 squad. Anna Lord, one of our senior players and a qualified Physio will be delivering sessions on mobility and stability, very important for players of all ages especially for injury prevention.

The U17/U19 and Ladies/Men’s group will benefit from a weekly master class from Conor Woolley. His sessions will focus on Strength and will be progressive over the 4 weeks. He is an exceptional personal trainer, it’s a 4-week series of Master classes, diarise Mondays 7pm. This will be followed on Tuesday’s by a Yoga class delivered by Jonty Hikmet. He has trained all over the world, he is a sportsman himself and his knowledge is incredible. Give yourself 4 weeks to learn some basic and intermediate yoga moves from a cool yoga instructor. After a day off (or preferably some Cardio), Natalie Taylor will be putting you through your paces for a general conditioning session on Thursdays. Sunday sessions vary from Craig Nicholls’s burpee master classes to Mobility and Stability with Anna Lord.

And the not to be missed date is the ‘Lockdown 2 Quiz’, hosted by Anna Sutcliffe and Matt Ingram, winners of the last quiz. Sat 21st Nov, 6pm start, get drinks and nibbles ready. Suitable for all ages; all family members, flat mates welcome!

We will be adding some challenges once the programme is underway (and we come up for air!). There will be plenty of opportunities to win prizes too.

All the sessions will be added to Pitchero. Please book your space, it helps the instructors to plan. Edi will be keeping a register (as well as managing the music, multiple screens and keeping an eye on technique and effort!). Please ensure you are training in a safe space, you have plenty of water, the correct name on your Zoom screen and all juniors (U18) must have their camera’s on (it really helps the instructors if seniors have their cameras on too but this is optional). If any equipment is needed, Edi will let you know in good time via WhatsApp.
