The weekend starts off at Habs Boys School as our Men’s 1st team are back in Championship One action with games against London rivals WL Penguins (14.15pm Saturday) and London Polytechnic (13.45pm Sunday) .
The team have had a torrid second half of the season with Covid and injuries effecting the squad which has been reflected in the results but with two games to go the team can still end on a positive note and with a full complement of 13 players this weekend the team will be looking to do just that.

Saturday afternoon and its over to Bolton for the start of the Inter-regional Championships….
East Angels & Watford Junior Girls Coach Jackie Spinks gave an update ahead of the weekend as the regions U18 (2005 born & younger) girls take part in the inter-regional tournament which takes place in two different locations.
England and the home nations have been split into 2 divisions based on their placings from the U14 tournaments held in 2018 (the covid-19 pandemic meant the U16 tournament did not take place).
The East "Angels" will compete in division 2 with the event to be held in Bolton over two days.
The girls will compete against teams from Scotland, Ireland, East Midlands & West Midlands.
The East team comprises of players from 5 different clubs from across region with Watford providing the bulk of the team with 6 players, the six are Lottie Winstanley, Eve Barnes, Martha Smith, Mackenzie Holt, Sofia Galati, Caitlin Winkworth.
The remaining East Angels squad comprises of 3 players from Hitchin, 2 of which are part of the Watford BWPL squad Megan Calderwood (East Captain) & Ashleigh Fenton (GK), 2 players from Norwich and 1 player each from Colchester & Ipswich Water Polo Clubs make up the squad.
On to Sunday and our U16’s are at QE Boys School for their Winter League Div One encounter with games against Northampton, Beckenham & Worthing.
Having finished the North Division in top spot after five wins and a lose from their six group games the team now move into the Division One play-off final where they are joined by fellow North Division team Northampton and Beckenham & Worthing from the South Division.
If we can claim three wins on Sunday we will be crowned Div One Champions..
Our squad for Sunday’s three matches will be:
Anthony Bartlett (GK), Matt Williams, Aksal Gerhardstein, Adi Rajesh, Ed Carpenter, Tejas Bansal, Daniel Ryan, Dusan Crompton, Owen Dorrington, Ryan Cubitt, William Fawcett, Bertie Dix.
Also, on Sunday afternoon our U12’s are in Div Two play-off action over at Lewisham having had a tough few games in the earlier rounds of the competition the team have dropped down into Division Two and will have three games on Sunday to conclude the Winter League U12’s championship.
With games against Chelmsford, Croydon and Northampton the team can still finish the season on a high by claiming the Div Two title.

Sunday evening and following the U16’s tournament at QE Boys our Men’s second team the Saxons has a Winter League Div Two home game against Enfield. Having won our previous home game against Guildford two weeks ago the team will be looking to make it back-to-back home victories.
